The Seine, Bridges and Cathedrals
Itinerary 2: Quays on the Ile St-Louis, Notre Dame and the
Flower Market on the Ile de la Cité
The Seine is the romantic heart of Paris. At least once, take the 87 bus to the Ile Saint–Louis to visit that small island and the Ile de la Cité. They are connected to the rest of Paris by five bridges. Walking on these islands is one of the best ways to enjoy the sights along the river. Get off at the stop called Pont de Sully-Quai de Béthune and see the wonders shown in these photos.

See the views along the Quai d’Anjou and the Quai de Béthune. Walk along the rue St-Louis-en-l’Ile, where you will see many shops, restaurants, and Berthillon (for the best ice cream). Don’t miss the Eglise St-Louis-en-l’Ile (church).

If you are looking for a luncheon place, you will enjoy Les Fous de l’Ile at 33, rue des Deux Ponts for its wonderful cuisine (a real tasty treat), moderate prices and prix fixe luncheons. You can also take in much local color in this fun, bustling place.
On the Ile de la Cité there is also much to see, including the mysterious Notre-Dame and the Flower Market, which becomes a bird market on Sundays.
